What does the service cost and how do I get it?

For people with Developmental Disabilities in California, our service is funded by the state through Regional Centers. It is often available without direct cost to you. To initiate a referral to us you need only discuss your situation with your local Regional Center. Your Service Coordinator can answer questions you may have on this and other types of service that might be of help to you. We also have agreements with other agencies (Mental Health, Child Protective Services, Probation, S.E.L.P.A., etc.) which may purchase our service directly.

Can I purchase this service directly?

For clients or programs who are not eligible for agency assistance, our program is available for about half the hourly cost of traditional counseling services. To initiate a referral you should contact my office directly.

Why should I consider requesting this service? Is it my only option?

Our service is not appropriate for all clients. Some behaviors get better on their own and some might respond to more traditional forms of "psychotherapy" or even medication. However, our program is different in that we provide service to you designed around your input and your lifestyle. We work hard to implement a plan that builds upon your strengths. We are not a "counseling" center. We come to you. We don't just assess behaviors, label them and leave you with recommendations. Our behavior analysts are committed to empowering families, clients, and programs to successfully deal with challenging behaviors.
